This is the 15 R grade of Rockford's model 6 movement. The model 6 is interesting for the exposed escapement. The old English script R is most likely the evolution of the Ruby designation found on the 15 Ruby. A similar letter A is found on some examples. We do not know for sure that the R is the higher grade of the two but from the reports, they both are much superior to the unmarked examples.
