Tall Aurelian Vase |

This taller Aurelian Ware vase has 8 panels around the top even though the diameter is somewhat smaller than the shorter example. The flowing branches eventually developed into the similar flowing branches executed in slip on the Florian Ware. Reg. No. 314901 is the Aurelian Ware registry number registered in 1898. The 7428/78 number is presumably the shape number. This is the only example I have seen that is also marked with a name on the bottom. The name Royal Century is not discussed in the Atterbury book on Moorcroft.
