The dial on this Grade 162 is typical of a gentleman's watch or presentation piece as opposed to a working man's watch. The heavier numbers and marginal minutes are typical of a watch used for railroad service.

This example, with serial number 6469869, is from the first run of Grade 162 and was produced in 1895.

The watch is currently housed in a gold filled screw back case. The original case was likely to have been 14K gold as on the other example. It is tempting to consider swapping the two cases.
