This example is from the first run of Grade 155 and features a gold escape wheel in addition to all the other fine features of the grade. The Grade 155 is the 17 jewel equivalent to the Grade 156 21 jewel watch.

This grade is one of four distinctive grades that feature the highly polished winding wheels with the fancy decoration. These are sometimes referred to as the "Lace Doily" Elgins. The four grades are the 155 open face, 161 hunting case, 243 hunting case and 246 open face. The first two were produced initially and have the 3/4 plate or divided plate while the second two followed in production and have the three finger bridge plate layout.

If you look closely at the close-up of the escape wheel you can see one of the gold teeth. The other example from the next run has a steel escape wheel. I believe the first run of the Grade 161 also has the gold escape wheel.
