Arnold & Son Chronometer 367/668. This watch was my first major chronometer purchase and was obtained from the same London dealer who started my serious watch collecting with the American/Nashua 20 size.

The dial has been replaced and the detent was beyond repair when the watch was purchased. The new detent was made by Bill Tapp. The case and remaining components appear to be original. The balance and hairspring are open to debate and may have been replaced by J. R. Arnold at some time subsequent to the original manufacture of the watch.

The hands are particularly nice with the gold center to the second hand and the screw detent on the minute hand. Both of these features are key features on the John Arnold chronometers.

This is a fully jeweled example and was sold by Arnold as his top quality Second "Best Kind." The full set of images is in the European collection under J. R. Arnold
